Art Ed Jobs and Internships, week of April 24

  • Full-time K – 12 Art Teacher needed at Harlem Village Academies. Bachelor’s and/or master’s degree in education/teaching; Two years of teaching experience preferred, preferably in grades K-12. New York State teaching certification preferred.
  • Art instructor wanted at Pinot’s Palette teaching acrylic art classes. College Degree in Art or Design related field; some experience leading a group of people and some experience in customer service.
  • Full-year apprenticeship position available at the Rubin Museum of Art starting September. Tasks include administrative support of programs, museums studies discussions and arts career advising, and leading tours and art workshops for K-12 school groups.
  • Museum Educator needed at The Children’s Museum of Manhattan. Educators will lead inquiry-based workshops, facilitate exhibit experiences, write lesson plans, engage in customer relations, act as peer mentors, and assist in the supervision and maintenance of exhibition spaces. Undergraduate in early childhood, arts education, or museum education preferred. Students who are currently enrolled in related programs will be considered. Bilingual in Spanish and English a plus.
  • Teaching position for 7-week course at Usdan Summer Camp for the Arts in Wheatley Heights, Long Island. Bachelor’s degree in your art form, education, or equivalent knowledge, skills, and abilities;  minimum of one year of teaching experience, preferably with students of varying ages and abilities. Must be certified in Child Abuse and Neglect/Maltreatment Identification (can be obtained online at no cost).
  • Education Coordinator wanted at Solomon R. Guggenheim Foundation. BA in Visual Art, Art History, Education or related field. Must know Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Photoshop, and InDesign; Knowledge of art history and art education. Knowledge of New York City schools or another urban school system is a plus.
  • Teen Academy Assistant needed at The International Center of Photography. B.A. or M.A. in Photography, Education and/or related field; 1+ years of office and administrative experience in an educational and/or photographic environment.
  • Teen Academy Manager needed at The International Center of Photography.  B.F.A. and/or M.F.A in Photography, Education, and/or related field. 3 years teaching/youth development experience a must. Experience designing photography related curricula and lesson plans. Prior managerial and/or supervisory experience is required.
  • Teen Programs Summer Intern wanted at Brooklyn Museum.  B.A. or B.F.A. (or be a rising Junior/Senior) in studio art, art history, museum education, art education, anthropology or related field. Experience working with children or teenagers. Unpaid but college credit available.
  • Art Lecturer needed at Art Smart. Graduate level art history education needed. Teaching/museum education experience a plus. Knowledge of foreign languages a plus.
  • Summer Arts Internship at various museums. Open to New York City college students entering junior or senior year of their undergraduate degree. Only students with an Expected Family Contribution (EFC) of $5,000 or less on their Student Aid Report (SAR) will be accepted.
