Andrea Arroyo presents “Altar,” a selection of works from her project-in-progress “Flor de Tierra, Homage to the Women of Juarez.” The project looks to commemorate the women of Juarez, the border city in Mexico where more than 400 women have gone missing or been killed in the past 15 years. Arroyo is creating a pastel-on-paper drawing as a tribute for each victim. Arroyo’s work continues to celebrate women, as she explores notions of gender, race, and identity.
Felipe Galindo is a cartoonist, illustrator fine artist and animator. His work is published and exhibited worldwide. He is the creator of the celebrated project Manhatitlan, which includes works on paper, animations, and the newly released book Manhatitlan, Mexican and American Cultures Intertwined, winner of the International Latino Book Award.
