Artists as Teachers?

We kicked off the spring semester of Special Projects with a glimpse of artist Mark Bradford’s Open Studio project as we began to investigate how to teach people to think like artists by reflecting on our own artistic practice.  This kind of project raises some juicy questions: Do you need to be a good artist to be an art teacher?  Can any artist be a teacher too? What does it really take to teach young people to approach art-making like artists?
